Voice Mail
Using Voice Mail Service
Callers hear a recording and then leave a
message.
・
You can access your voice message from
anywhere in Japan.
・
Voice Mail Service stores voice messages when
FOMA terminal is turned OFF or is in a location
where radio waves are hard to reach, or when you
cannot answer a call.
・
You must apply to use Voice Mail Service.
A monthly fee is required.
・
Voice Mail Service cannot be accessed from a
location outside the service area or where radio
waves are hard to reach. Operate FOMA terminal
in locations with better radio wave condition.

* Callers can press

on their telephone to skip hearing
the answering message and proceed directly to recording
mode.
Use of Voice Mail Service requires communication
fees for hearing voice messages, in addition to the
monthly charge. For details, see “Network Services
User’s Guide”.
Activating Voice Mail Service

stand-by display.

Select “Yes”.

Select “Yes”.

Select “No” to activate Voice Mail Service by
the set time (the default ringing time is 10
seconds) without the ringing time setting.

Enter the ringing time.
Voice Mail Service is activated.

Enter the ringing time between 0 and 120
seconds.

You can also increase or decrease the
entered values by pressing

・
Up to 20 Voice messages, each 3 minutes long
can be recorded and they are stored up to 72
hours.

Includes a function that only announces that
you are unable to answer the call.

When Voice Mail Service is active you are still
able to make and receive calls.
・
Unanswered calls are transferred to the Voice
Mail Service Center, which stores voice
messages. An icon indicated on the stand-by
display and received calls screen alert you that
one or more calls have been transferred.
・
Note that, though you can subscribe to both
Voice Mail Service and Call Forwarding Service,
2 services cannot be used simultaneously. When
you enable Call Forwarding Service, Voice Mail
Service is automatically disabled. (After that, if
you turn Call Forwarding Service OFF, Voice
Mail Service is not automatically activated.)

You can forward incoming calls to the Voice
Mail Service Center (

forward incoming calls to the Voice Mail Service
Center while on the phone.

Voice Mail Service can be accessed from
touch-tone general subscriber phones or
payphones using the network security code. Set
Remote Control beforehand.
・
When a call without caller ID notification is
received while Caller ID Request Service is ON,
a guidance is played requesting to notify the
caller ID. No message is recorded.
・
When a video-phone call is received, the call is
not transferred to the Voice Mail Service
Center, even if Voice Mail Service is set. The
call is received as a normal video-phone call.
