Use the
exception crashinfo
global configuration command on the switch stack or on a standalone
switch to configure the switch to create the extended crashinfo file when the Cisco IOS image fails. Use
the
no
form of this command to disable this feature.
exception crashinfo
no exception crashinfo
Syntax Description
This command has no arguments or keywords.
Defaults
The switch creates the extended crashinfo file.

The basic crashinfo file includes the Cisco IOS image name and version that failed, and a list of the
processor registers, and a stack trace. The extended crashinfo file includes additional information that
can help determine the cause of the switch failure.
If you enter the
exception crashinfo
global configuration command on a stack master, it configures all
the stack members to create the extended crashinfo file if the Cisco IOS image on the stack members fail.
Use the
no exception crashinfo
global configuration command to configure the switch to not create the
extended crashinfo file.
Examples
This example shows how to configure the switch to not create the extended crashinfo file:
Switch(config)#
no
exception crashinfo
You can verify your settings by entering the
show running-config
privileged EXEC command.
