5.8 CD-ROM Drive
Perform the following procedure to remove the CD-ROM drive:
1. Extend the chassis for service (see Section 5.2).
2. Remove the front panel (see Section 5.3).
3. Remove the removable media bracket (see Section 5.6).
4. Remove the five screws
™ that secure the two halves of the removable media bracket
together (see Figure 5-7).
5. Disconnect the flex cable connector
š from the rear of the CD-ROM drive (see Figure
5-7).
6. Remove the four screws
› that secure the CD-ROM drive to the bottom half of the
removable media bracket (see Figure 5-7).
To replace the floppy drive, refer to Figure 5-7 and reverse steps 1 through 6 of the removal
procedure.
