5.17 Front or Rear EMI/RFI Honeycomb Fil ter
Perform the following procedure to remove the front or rear EMI/RFI honeycomb filter:
1. Extend the chassis for service (see Section 5.2).
2. Remove the top cover (see Section 5.4).
3. Remove the CPU modules (see Section 5.13).
4. Remove the two screws
™ along the top of the EMI/RFI honeycomb filter assembly š (see
Figure 5-16).
5. Lift the EMI/RFI honeycomb filter assembly until the three tabs
› on the bottom of the
EMI/RFI honeycomb filter assembly come out of the three slots in the chassis (see Figure
5-16).
6. Remove the EMI/RFI honeycomb filter element
œ from the EMI/RFI honeycomb filter
assembly (see Figure 5-16).
To replace a front or rear EMI/RFI honeycomb filter, refer to Figure 5-16 and reverse steps 1
through 6 of the removal procedure. Ensure that the three tabs on the bottom of the assembly go
into the three slots in the chassis and that the EMI/RFI gasket on the replacement EMI/RFI
honeycomb filter element is toward the outside of the chassis.
