ExpressBuilder DVD
Please setup the server using the ExpressBuilder DVD both when setting it up for the
first time, and when you make changes to its configuration.
With the ExpressBuilder DVD you can:
■
Install the Operating System, using the Express Setup.
■
Diagnose the system, using the System Diagnostics tool.
■
Create a support disk; this disk will be used to manually install a Microsoft
operating system.
■
Update the BIOS or the server firmware.
■
Update a Microsoft operating system, using the “Update System” feature of the
Windows Autorun menu (available from the windows-based ExpressBuilder).
■
Install utilities, such as management software for Windows (NEC ESMPRO,
Dianascope, etc.). Windows-based applications are installed via the Windows
Autorun menu.
■
Read the on-line documentation (Windows systems only).
Note: Some of the above features can be performed
remotely using a cross cable (COM) or LAN.
Software End-User License Agreement
Carefully read the terms and conditions of the Software End User License Agreement
printed on the ExpressBuilder DVD-ROM sleeve.
Using a Client Computer equipped with a CD Drive
The ExpressBuilder disk is a DVD, which means that the client computer you want to
use to manage the server needs a DVD drive.
If you want to install the ExpressBuilder management software to the client without a
DVD drive, make a CD-R from the ExpressBuilder DVD according to the procedure
below.
Note:The sole purpose of this procedure is the creation of
CD to install the management software to the client.
1. Insert the ExpressBuilder DVD in a computer equipped with a DVD drive.
