LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility
and Universal RAID Utility

You can use the Universal RAID Utility for the configuration, management, and
monitoring of the RAID System under the operating system.

The points to keep in mind when using the Universal RAID Utility together with LSI
Software RAID Configuration Utility are as follows.

Terms

LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility and Universal RAID Utility use different
terms. Please refer to the following list.

Number and ID

The numbers assigned to each component are different in both utilities.

Adapter and RAID Controller

The LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility identifies the Adapter starting from 0.
You can see the Adapter number using [Sel. Adapter] in the [Objects] menu.

The Universal RAID Utility identifies the RAID Controller starting from 1. You can
see the RAID Controller number using [Number] in the RAID Controller properties on
the RAID Viewer or using [RAID Controller #X] in the RAID Controller properties on
the raidcmd command.

You can also see the Adapter number managed by the LSI Software RAID
Configuration Utility in [ID] in the RAID Controller properties of the Universal RAID
Utility.

Logical Drive

The LSI Software RAID Configuration Utility identifies the Logical Drive starting
from 0. You can see the Logical Drive number using [Logical Drives] in the [Objects]
menu.

The Universal RAID Utility identifies the Logical Drive starting from 1. You can see
the Logical Drive number using [Number] in the Logical Drive properties on the RAID
Viewer or using [RAID Controller #X Logical Drive #Y] in the Logical Drive
properties on the raidcmd command.
