Installing and Removing a Microprocessor
The server may have another CPU installed in addition to the standard CPU (Intel
®
Xeon
™
Processor).
Caution
■
The CPU is easily affected by static electricity. Touch the
metal frame of the server to discharge static electricity from
your body before handling the CPU. Do not make bare
hands contact with the CPU pins. Do not place the CPU
directly on the desk.
See “Static Precautions” on page 157.
for details about the static electricity.

Do not operate the server until confirming that the addition-
ally installed CPU is in normal state.
■
Use a CPU approved by your sales representative. If an
unapproved third party's CPU is installed in the server, the
CPU and the server may be defected. You will be charged
by any repair of a malfunction or defect caused by such a
device within the warranty period.
