Distillation Process Analyzer DPA-4.5
Design and function
4.5 Optional extensions
Validation system
The
validation system
consists of a tank, a pump, one or several
valves and further components. The valves are operated manually
or controlled by the PACS control software.
Recovery system
The
recovery system
collects the product that is directed into the
drain line of the device. The product can then be pumped there at
a higher pressure. The recovery system basically consists of a
container, a pump, valves, sensors and its own control.
Nitrogen generator
The nitrogen required to operate the analyzer can be generated
from instrument air. For this, nitrogen is separated from the
instrument air by means of a diaphragm. The remaining air
replenished with oxygen is discharged to the atmosphere or
conveyed into a separate vent line.
Chiller for liquids
The
chiller for liquids
(chiller for short) provides cold cooling
medium for the heat exchangers of cooling pipe, receiver (optional)
and any other applications. For more information on the
chiller
,
please refer to the accompanying handbook.
Receiver tempering
Depending on the product, in addition to the cooling of the cooling
pipe, which is always necessary, it may also be necessary to cool
the receiver. Cooling pipe and receiver are generally cooled
parallel. A needle valve can be used to adjust the flow rate of
cooling medium flowing through the receiver.
The serial cooling of cooling pipe and receiver is normally used for
products of group 4 (ASTM D 86).
For the analysis of various different products, the system can
automatically switch over to operation with or without
receiver
tempering
.
In the case of heavy products, it may be necessary to heat the
receiver instead of cooling it.
Hot water unit
The
hot water unit
provides hot water for the receiver.
Trace heaters for pipes and the
receiver and/or the heater for the
measuring unit box
Electric trace heaters and/or the electric heater for the measuring
unit box ensure that the product remains capable of flowing at low
ambient temperatures or if a highly viscous petrochemical product
is in use.
