5 Triggering and Gating
The specific command which sets the gate stop source is:
[SENSe:]GATE:STOP:SOURce {IMMediate|EXTernal}
[SENSe:]GATE:STOP:SOURce?

IMMediate
stops (closes) the measurement gate immediately fol-
lowing any gate stop hold off.
- gate source
EXTernal
sets the gate stop source to be specified by the com-
mand:
[SENSe:]GATE:EXTernal:SOURce {EXTernal|INPut[1]|INPut2}
[SENSe:]GATE:EXTernal:SOURce?

is the counter’s rear panel ‘Gate In/Out’ BNC.
