Preparation
Before you begin any Removal and Replacement Procedure:
1. Switch OFF the printer power and disconnect the power cord from the AC wall
outlet.
2. Remove the Laser Print (EP) Cartridge and protect it from exposure to light by
covering it with a piece of opaque plastic sheeting or by placing it in a light-tight
container.
3. Disconnect all computer interface cables from the printer.
4. Wear an electrostatic discharge wrist strap to help prevent damage to the sensitive
electronics of the printer circuit boards.
5. Wait at least 30 minutes after you have switched OFF printer power for the Fuser
to cool before you work on or around the Fuser.
Notations in the RRP text

The notation “rear” of a component, in place or removed, refers to the
surface of the component that is, when installed, facing the rear of the print
engine.

that is, if installed, facing the front of the print engine.

Adjustment
The Phaser 5400 printer does not contain any field adjustable components.
