3. Click OK (Macintosh) or Close (PC) to return to Command
Center’s main window.
4. Select Quit (Macintosh) or Exit (PC) from the File menu to
quit Command Center.
To measure the calibration strip printed using the new transfer curve.
1. Use the “Measure the Calibration Step” procedure in the
“Using the Colortron II” section (see the device documentation
to use another measuring tool).
2. Compare the second calibration chart results to the ideal
percentages in the first column of the chart. If the calibration
numbers are off by more than 3%, go back through
linearization again, beginning at “Sending a Default Transfer
Curve to the Controller.”
Monitor Calibration
Note: Because of current Window ICM (Image Color
Management) limitations, monitor calibration is not
available for the PC environment. The next ICM release
should correct this situation.
Monitor calibration is critical, especially if you use the monitor
display to help make color decisions. It helps make your monitor
display consistent, and creates a profile for a specific working
environment.
Many variables affect a monitor’s display. For example, a monitor is
cool when you first turn it on, and screen areas warm up at different
speeds. This produces cool and hot spots which in turn cause colors
to vary slightly. Ambient light, aging phosphors, and monitor
settings are other variables that affect display.
