Removing:
– Remove poly V-belt
⇒ page 31 .
– Lock vibration damper using counterhold - T10172- .
– Unscrew securing bolts and remove vibration damper from
crankshaft journal.
Installing:
Caution
Check rubber joint between inner and outer ring of vibration
damper for cracks and separation. If rubber joint is damaged,
renew vibration damper.
– Renew securing bolt for vibration damper.
– Fit vibration damper and tighten bolts by hand.
– Lock vibration damper using counterhold - T10172- .
– Tighten securing bolts. Specified torque: 60 Nm +
1
/2 turn
(180°) further.
– Install poly V-belt ⇒ page 31 .

Removing
– Remove poly V-belt

– Remove alternator - C- ⇒ Electrical system; Rep. gr. 27 ;
Alternator; Removing and installing alternator .
– Remove air conditioner compressor ⇒ Heating, air condition‐
ing; Rep. gr. 87 ; Air conditioner compressor; Removing and
installing air conditioner compressor .
– Unbolt ancillary bracket.
Installing
– First hand-tighten locating bolts -2 and 4-.
– Then hand-tighten bolts -1, 3 and 5-.
– Now tighten all the bolts diagonally.
