Removing and installing exhaust mani‐

fold

Removing:
– Remove upper part of intake manifold 

⇒ page 181

 .

– Unscrew coolant pipe from heat shield -arrows-. Unscrew se‐

curing bolts -1- and remove heat shield with intake manifold

support.

– Unbolt exhaust pipe at exhaust manifolds -arrows- and push

back slightly.

Note

The lambda probes remain in situ.

– Remove securing nuts at top and bottom -arrows- of both ex‐

haust manifolds.

– Remove exhaust manifold to rear.
Installing:
Install in reverse order, noting the following:

Renew seals, gaskets and self-locking nuts.

♦

Coat studs with high-temperature paste - G 052 112 A3- .
