• When installing camshafts, No. 1 cylinder cams -A- must point

upwards.

Procedure:
– Position crankshaft with counterhold - T10172- in engine di‐

rection of rotation to TDC No. 1 cylinder marking.

– Lightly coat contact surfaces of bearing caps 7 and 8 with

grease - G 052 735 A2- before installing.

– Install supporting elements in cylinder head and fit respective

roller rocker finger onto respective valve stem end or support‐

ing element.

– Ensure that all roller rocker fingers contact valve stem ends

-1- correctly and that they are clipped into their respective

support elements -2-.

– Oil running surfaces of camshafts.
– Carefully place camshaft into the corresponding camshaft

bearing of the cylinder head. Take note of camshaft marking

– Note installation position of bearing caps.
