Recovering InterScan Gateway Security Appliances
Removed From the Product Directory
The following scenarios can cause Control Manager to delete InterScan Gateway
Security Appliances from the Product Directory:
• Reinstalling the Control Manager server and selecting Delete existing records
and create a new database option
This option creates a new database using the name of the existing one.
• Replacing the corrupted Control Manager database with another database of the
same name
• Accidentally deleting the InterScan Gateway Security Appliance using the
Directory Manager
If a Control Manager server’s InterScan Gateway Security Appliance records are lost,
the agents on the products still "know" where they are registered to. The product
agent will automatically re-register itself after eight hours or when the service
restarts.
To recover InterScan Gateway Security Appliances removed from the Product
Directory:
• Restart the InterScan Gateway Security Appliance.
Search for InterScan Gateway Security Appliances, Product
Directory Folders or Computers
Click Search to quickly:
• Add a specific or a group of InterScan Gateway Security Appliances to Temp
• Find and locate a specific InterScan Gateway Security Appliance in the Product
Directory
To search for a folder or InterScan Gateway Security Appliance:
1.
Access Product Directory.
2.
On the left menu, click Search .
