Installing a 633 nm Laser
If you specifically ordered this laser wavelength with your system, see “Changing the Laser,
Filter and Grating.” If you need to add this capability in the future, a service visit is required to
ensure optimum alignment and performance. Contact our sales or service representative in
your area.
Enabling the Laser
The laser must be enabled before it can be turned on. To enable the laser, rotate the laser key
to the unlocked (vertical) position.

Optional Class 3B Laser Configuration
The DXRxi microscope can be configured as either a Class 1 or Class 3B laser product. Class
3B laser radiation is hazardous and can cause permanent eye damage. Exposure to laser
radiation should be avoided by setting up a laser safe area.
See the DXR Raman Instruments Site and Safety Guide that came with your instrument for a
full description of necessary precautions.
Note
The laser key can only be removed when the laser keyswitch is in the locked
(horizontal) position. The laser is disabled when the laser keyswitch is locked.
