Feature Description
Default Directory Defines the folder in Windows™ Explorer that OMNICxi
software will use to open and save image and spectral data and to
load and save the
region queue .
Laser Shows the serial number, maximum power and frequency in
nanometers of the installed laser. Also provides these options to
control laser operation:
• Turn off laser when software closes . When selected,
automatically turns off the laser when you exit the OMNICxi
software. Recommended to preserve laser life.
• Turn off laser after _ minutes inactivity . When selected and
a valid number of minutes (greater than 0) is entered,
automatically turns off the laser after the specified time has
elapsed with no data collection activity. Recommended to
preserve laser life.
• Laser on . Turns the laser on or off. This setting is selected
automatically when you start the OMNICxi software. You
can use this option to turn off the laser if you want to leave
the instrument running with the software open and a sample
in place (prevents the sample from burning). The laser must
be on in order to collect data with the instrument.
Grating Shows the serial number and frequency in nanometers of the
installed grating.
Filter Shows the serial number, frequency in nanometers, and cutoff of
the installed laser filter. Cutoff defines the lowest frequency, in
wavenumbers, that will be displayed in Raman shifted spectra. See
Data Format for more information.
