Laser Precautions

Moving Parts
The microscope contains an automated stage that is controlled by the software. There are
several places on and around the stage where a person or object could be pinched by moving
parts. When operating the system, keep hands and fingers away from the stage area except to
position the sample or change accessories. Remove your hands from the system when
operating the software.
NOTICE Be sure that all persons operating this system read the site and safety manual
first.
WARNING Avoid eye injury. The system may be configured as a Class 1 or Class 3B laser
product emitting visible or invisible laser radiation. Exposure to laser radiation could
cause permanent eye damage.
• All persons using or in the vicinity of a Class 3B system must wear safety eyewear that
exceeds the specifications for the laser in use
• Do not look directly into a laser, even when wearing laser safety eyewear
• Set up a laser safety area in the location where a Class 3B system is being used
• Making adjustments, using controls, or performing procedures that are not specified
in the documentation could result in exposure to hazardous visible or invisible laser
radiation.
CAUTION Avoid pinch hazard. To prevent personal injury, keep hands free from moving
parts.
