Thermo Scientific
The Averaging Time screen allows the user to choose a manually selected
(static) averaging time.
Averaging Time defines the time period (10 to 300 seconds) during which
the O
3
measurement is taken and the average concentration of the reading
for that time period is calculated. The front panel display and analog
outputs are updated every 5 seconds for averaging times between 10 and
300 seconds. An averaging time of 10 seconds, for example, means that the
average concentration of the last 10 seconds will be displayed at each
update. An averaging time of 300 seconds means that the moving average
concentration of the last 300 seconds will be the output at each update.
Therefore, the lower the averaging time the faster the front panel display
and analog outputs respond to concentration changes. Longer averaging
times are typically used to smooth output data. Note: This 5 second update
is only applicable to the photometer concentration. Other items on the
front panel and elsewhere are updated every second.
