9. Restore the inlet valve.
a.
Reattach the inlet valve plug. Keep the EI or CI label pointing upward to indicate
which type of ion volume is installed in this instrument. If there is an EI/CI ion
volume installed in this instrument, position the label so that EI and CI are left to
right.
b. Remove the guide bar by rotating it 90° counter-clockwise and sliding it out of the
guide bar opening.
10. Close the Insert/Remove Probe window.
Cleaning the Ion Volume Without an Inlet Valve
To clean the ion volume without an inlet valve, you will need:
• Cleaning supplies for stainless steel parts
• Gloves, clean, lint- and powder-free
• Ion volume tool
• Lint-free cloth
1. Cover the work area with a lint-free cloth.
2. Shut down and vent the DSQ II, as described in
"Shutting Down the GC/MS System"

3. Remove the front and top covers, as described in "

4. Remove the vacuum manifold cover, as described in "

WARNING - ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD.
Before proceeding. unplug the DSQ II to
avoid an electrical shock.
Note
Wear clean, lint- and powder-free gloves when handling any vacuum manifold
components.
