3. Remove the left cover, as described in
Removing the Left Cover" on page 29
4. Remove the current ion gauge.
Figure 54.
Removing the Ion Gauge
a.
Disconnect the cable.
b. Remove the three screws holding the ion gauge collar in place.
c.
Remove the ion gauge collar and ion gauge together.
d. Pull the ion gauge out of the ion gauge collar. Wearing gloves, hold on to the O-ring.
5. Install the new ion gauge (PN A0105-06003).
a.
Insert the new ion gauge into the ion gauge collar. Slip the O-ring over the end of the
ion gauge.
b. Push the ion gauge all the way into the vacuum manifold. Turn it so the cable will
point straight down.
c.
Reattach the screws that hold the ion gauge collar in place.
d. Reconnect the cable.
6. Reattach the left, top, and front covers of the DSQ II.
7. Restart the DSQ II.
8. Once the DSQ II has pumped down and is operational, check for vacuum leaks by
reading the convectron gauge and ion gauge pressures and running an automatic tune.
