3A-3 Drive Chain / Drive Train / Drive Shaft:
2) Slide the boot toward the center of the front drive
shaft and remove the stopper ring from the outer
race.
3) Remove the outer race from the front drive shaft.
4) Wipe off any grease and remove the snap ring.
Special tool
(A): 09900–06107 (Snap ring pliers)
5) Remove the cage from the front drive shaft.
6) Remove the boot band of the small diameter side.
Assembly
CAUTION
!
• Wash all parts before installation, clean the
inside and outside of the boots with a
cloth.
• Do not wash the boots in any commercially
available degreaser, such as gasoline or
kerosene. Washing in a degreaser causes
deterioration of the boots.
1) Fit a boot on the drive shaft end, fitting the small
diameter side of the boot to the shaft groove, fix its
end with a new boot band.
CAUTION
!
Replace the boot band with a new one.
2) Install the cage (1) on the shaft.
CAUTION
!
Install the cage with the large diameter side
“A” facing the shaft end.
