11) Install the front output shaft to the right crankcase.
12) Tighten the front output shaft bolts (10).
13) Assemble the engine. Refer to “Engine Bottom Side
Disassembly in Section 1D (Page 1D-45)” and
“Engine Top Side Assembly in Section 1D (Page 1D-
21)”.
14) Remount the engine assembly. Refer to “Engine
Assembly Installation in Section 1D (Page 1D-16)”.
Front Output Shaft Related Parts Inspection

Refer to “Front Output Shaft Disassembly and Assembly
(Page 3D-2)”.
Front Output Shaft
Inspect the front output shaft for distortion.
If distortion is found, replace the front output shaft with a
new one.
Inspect the gear of the front output shaft for wear or
damage. If any defects are found, replace the drive and
driven bevel gears as a set.
Oil Seal
Visually inspect the oil seal for damage, with particular
attention given to the lip.
Replace the oil seal that shows indications of leakage.
Front Output Shaft Bearing
Inspect the front output shaft bearings for abnormal
noise and smooth rotation.
Replace the bearings if there is anything unusual.
