While holding the clip in your right hand, release the mat from your left
hand, and let it unroll onto the preheat platen

. Ensure that the mat and
wear strip lay flat on the preheat platen and that the holes are aligned,
front to back, with the holes in the shutter vacuum plate.

If your clip does not install using the M4 thumbscrew, press the clip firmly
down onto the top right edge of the vacuum plate along the complete
length of the vacuum plate (front to back of the printer). The ends of the
clip will fit over the shaft that is below the vacuum plate.

Using your right hand, gently slide the mat from side to side until you can
feel that the holes on the lower part of the mat are securely engaged with
the pins protruding from the preheat platen

. Ensure that the cutout on
the mat is positioned correctly around the skew sensor
(4)
and that the
mat is aligned correctly with the red line at the entry point of the preheat
platen (to the right of the skew sensor).
