Performance Verification

Test 13: Backup Battery and External Battery Test

Ventilator breath rate
outside acceptable
value

1. Check for leaks at circuit connections, test lung, filters, etc., and

bypass oxygen sensor.

2. Replace patient circuit (including exhalation bacteria filter).

3. Replace CPU PCB.

4. Replace main PCB.

Measured tidal volume
out of tolerance

1. Verify the altitude is correct.

2. Verify the compliance factor is disabled.

3. Verify that CV4 is correctly positioned and oriented, if not

reposition and re-test.

4. If CV4 is correctly positioned and oriented, replace CV4.

5. Replace the exhalation flow sensor.

6. Replace sensor PCB.

7. Replace analog PCB.

Symptom

1. Verify External Battery’s power switch is turned on.

2. Verify that Battery’s harness connections are secure.

3. Check the External Battery fuse (see External Battery service

instructions).

4. Replace the power supply.

1. If battery had been allowed to fully charge before test, replace the

1. Verify that ventilator is operating from External Battery power. To

ensure External Battery operation, try turning Backup Battery
power switch off and disconnecting Backup Battery.

2. Replace the front panel keyboard if the External Battery is

functional.
