Performance Verification
11. The heated exhalation bacteria filter and power fail alarm test is
complete.
Neonatal Option Testing (Test 12)
These tests verify pressure accuracy at 5 cmH
2
O, low flow, breath rate at 150
BPM, and Volume Accuracy at 10mL.
If the ventilator is not already in Diagnostic Mode, simultaneously press the
ALARM RESET
and
100% O
2
keys on the front panel for approximately 5
seconds while turning ventilator power
ON

to enter Diagnostic
Mode.
Test 12a: Extended Self Test (EST) in Neonatal Mode
1. Connect a Neonatal Patient Circuit to the Esprit.

User Config
, verify

is enabled (white background).
If not, touch

4. Select Neonatal patient type and then follow the remaining on-screen
instructions.
Test 12b: Pressure Accuracy
1. Remain in Diagnostic Mode.
2. Block the patient wye.
3. Connect the analyzer to the ventilator (see “Pressure Accuracy Test
4. Set the analyzer’s pressure range to measure at least 120 cmH

O.

energize (white background) the safety solenoid.

and set the flow to 1 LPM.

and set to 1470 steps, then adjust the steps until

8. Verify the
Inhalation Pressure

displays on the
hardware screen read within ± 10% of the analyzer display.
