TROUBLESHOOTING
SMARTRAX MD OPERATION
Torque H
SmarTrax MD has detected a current
draw greater than 8 amps.
Check the mechanical drive system for
binding conditions.
1. Navigate to the SmarTrax Manual Steering
screen.
2. Toggle the master switch on and off,
verifying that the Raven LED logo
changes from white steady to blue
steady.
3. Drive the motor at various settings while
monitoring the Actual Current value. If no
current is drawn and the problem persists,
replace the mechanical drive.
Wrong HDW
The software and hardware versions of
the node are not compatible.
Update the node software to the proper
version.
Yaw Error
Yaw rate sensor values are out of range.
Replace the SmarTrax node.

SmarTrax MD will not power up.
The power connections are loose
or not properly connected.
Check the power connections to
ensure they are secure and
properly connected.
A fuse is blown.
Replace the fuse.
The battery connections are loose,
corroded, or not properly
connected.
Check the battery connections to
ensure they are secure and
properly connected.
The machine does not have proper
voltage to run the system.
Test for +12VDC using a voltmeter.
The field computer is defective.
Replace the field computer.
SmarTrax MD will not engage by
pressing the foot/enable switch.
The node is not communicating
properly.
Check the LEDs on the node to
ensure proper communication.
There is an active error in the
SmarTrax MD system.
Refer to Error Messages section on
page 100 to troubleshoot the error
message.
The foot/enable switch cable is not
connected or is faulty.
Check the foot/enable switch cable
connection.
The operator presence switch or
jumper plug is disconnected.
Check the operator presence
switch connections.
The SmarTrax MD master switch is
in the “OFF” position.
Manually toggle the master switch
to the “ON” position.
There is no guidance line set.
Set a new guidance line.
