B.3 RECOVER SPACE
This feature enables increased recording efficiency by recovering unused disk space
for use as “fresh” audio recording space. You may set a bottom limit to the length of
any blank area that will be recovered.
To perform a Recover Space operation, select the item from the Diagnostics menu.
The system will respond with:
With this (default) setting, any silent audio section in any project(s) that is longer
than 2 seconds will be “recovered” as free space
Set the desired lower limit, then press ENTER. The system will prompt you for
confirmation before performing the recovery.
B.4 REMOTE MODEM DIAGNOSTICS
For fast/accurate field troubleshooting, RADAR provides a Remote Modem
Diagnostic feature, which enables Otari technical support personnel to “dial up” the
RADAR system in your studio, and perform diagnostics tests and monitor the
system for proper operation.
Please Note: The software for Remote RADAR Diagnostics is provided standard with the
system. However, to utilize the feature you must provide a standard V.32 or
V.34 (14.4 kbps or 28.8 kbps) EXTERNAL modem.

CAVEAT EMPTOR!
Noisy phone lines and fate can cause problems with the less-expensive (cheaper)
external modems. We have found, through our own painful experience, that you
get what you pay for.
Contact OTARI Technical Support for advice on obtaining one
of the better modems.
