8.3.6  Multi-Tape Backups

A RADAR II fitted with internal and external disk drives contains a lot of audio
data, potentially more than can fit on one 8mm tape.  In these cases, the system
ejects the first tape, and displays the message:

Remove and label the first tape, then insert another tape and press ENTER to
continue.

Please Note: 

Tapes are numbered beginning with 1.  However, each tape is also time-
stamped, so that tape #2 from Friday’s backup is distinguishable from Tape #2
from Monday’s backup.

IMPORTANT!  If the LCD displays any message other than BACKUP COMPLETE,

the backup has not been correctly saved and you must repeat the
procedure. See section 8.7 for error message descriptions.

8.4  RESTORE OPERATION

To restore data from 8mm tape:

1.

Load the desired RADAR II Backup tape into the drive.

2.

Select, from the Main menu, the Projects menu.  

3.

Under the Project menu, select the RESTORE item (scroll down to it
using the cursor keys, or simply press “R” from the QWERTY
keyboard), then press ENTER.  

The system will respond with the Restore

selections, as shown:
