8.3.4.2 Current Versions
The Current Versions backup option enables you to back up all versions of the
project you are currently working on. For example:
Assume you were currently working on Project #3, which was named “Hit Song v3.
Let’s also assume that there are five versions of this particular project. If you select
“Current Versions” under the Backup menu, RADAR II marks the files for all five
versions of this project, and backs up this data to tape.
As with all backup operations, RADAR II prompts you to name this dataset, and
also whether you want to append the dataset to the tape, or to overwrite the tape
starting at the beginning.
8.3.4.3 Current Project
As with the “Backup All” feature, backing up audio and playlist data from RADAR
II using the Current Project method is simple to use. In this mode, RADAR II
marks the currently active project (audio and playlist information), and proceeds
with the backup. (Again, you are prompted for a dataset name and must select
Append or Overwrite)
8.3.4.4 Selected Projects
The Selected Projects method is the most widely used backup method, since it
enables you to specify multiple projects to be included in a single dataset.
When you select this method, RADAR II displays the number of the currently
active project (say, “Proj: 01”) in the upper left corner of the LCD display, followed
by “SEL#:00” to the right. To select the project(s) to include in the backup, use the
cursor up/down keys (or the jog wheel) to move through the projects - then press
the RE-8’s spacebar to make the selection (the SEL#: field increments by one).
Once you have selected a project, a “+” is shown to the right of the project name.
Repeat this process until the desired project(s) for this dataset are selected.
Please Note:
If you inadvertently select a project but don’t want to include it in the backup
dataset, simply locate the project (using the cursor keys or jog wheel), and
press the spacebar to remove the entry from the selected list.
Once all projects are selected, you may proceed for by pressing the ENTER button.
8.3.5 Aborting a Tape Backup Operation
If you must cancel a tape backup operation, press the CANCEL button. The
system will prompt for a confirmation, then will break out of the backup operation.
