4.3 COMPONENTS OF ENGINE
Note: For details of engine maintenance, refer to the separate engine service manual (TNV service manual).
4.4 FUEL
4.4.1 APPROPRIATE USE
The use of fuel oil with poor properties causes the following defects. Provide guidance to users for using appropriate
fuel oil.
1. Adhesion of deposit to exhaust valve
In addition to poor compression, imperfect combustion, excessive fuel consumption, etc., unburned oil mixed in
the exhaust gushes out or the exhaust valve seat portion is eroded.
2. Adhesion of deposit to piston ring groove
Blow-back of burned gas, poor lubrication, imperfect combustion, excessive fuel consumption, or contamination
of lubricating oil occurs and cylinder liners and piston rings are worn out prematurely.
3. Blockage or corrosion of nozzle hole of fuel injection valve
Imperfect combustion causes wear, corrosion of the fuel injection mechanism and closing of the nozzle hole.
