20.7 ASSEMBLING PROCEDURE FOR MAIN BOOM
Perform assembling in the reverse order of disassembling.
CAUTION: During assembling, exercise care not to allow the extending and contracting wire ropes to cross each
other or be damaged in the boom.
Also, after hooking the extending wire rope (19), securely fold the two plates on boom No. 3 and apply the
latch.
20.7.1 ADJUSTING THE MAIN BOOM EXTENDING/CONTRACTING WIRE ROPES
1. With the main boom in a horizontal position, reciprocate the boom to extend and retract for two to three times.
2. During the retracting operation, check if the middle portion of the extending wire rope is sagging down, and when
it is completely retracted, check to ensure that the clearance between booms No. 2 and No. 3 (clearance (a) in the
figure below) is 5 mm or more.
When it is sagging or the clearance is excessively wide, adjust the wire ropes by referring to the section
"Adjustment of Wire Rope".
