3. Draw the wire rope (5) through the rope attachment hole of the winch
drum (9). Secure the wire rope (5) to the winch drum (9), following the
procedure provided below.
4. (1) Draw the slackened wire rope (5) through the winch drum (9).
5. (2) The rope wedge (10) should be in position (a). Pass the wire
rope (5) around the rope wedge and yank at the rope in the direction
indicated by the arrow.
Adjust the length of the wire rope (5) to keep the end of the wire
rope from protruding from the narrow hole in the winch drum (9).
6. Operate the winch lever slowly to “UP” (push it toward you) to wind
up the wire rope (5) onto the winch drum (9).
7. Secure the end of the wire rope (5) to the wedge socket (14),
following the procedure provided below.
8. (1) Draw the wire rope (5) through the wedge socket (14) as shown
in the diagram to the right.
9. (2) The rope wedge (10) should be in position (a), and yank at the
wire rope (5) in the direction indicated by the arrow.
10. Attach the wire clip (15) to the wire rope (5).
11. 7. Secure the wedge socket (14) to the hook block, and tighten the
wedge socket pin fixing bolt.
12. 8. Place the boom derricking lever in the “Raise” position (pull it
toward you) or the boom telescoping lever in the “Extend” position
(pull it toward you) to raise the hook block.
NOTES
Winch operation is allowed only after the hook block is raised.
13. Raise the jib as high as possible, and operate the winch lever to
“DOWN” (push it forward) to pay out the wire rope of the winch drum
as close to the ground as possible.
NOTES
Do not allow the hook block to contact the ground.
14. With the wire rope (5) held under tension, operate the winch lever to
“UP” (push it toward you) to wind up the wire rope (5) on to the
winch drum (9).
