2.5.2
Pre-Test
In the pre-test, you will prepare the patient and the measurement system; for
example, install the pump tube, insert the catheters, and zero the pressures.
Note that data will not be stored, and markers cannot be placed. After finishing
the pre-test and running the quality check, you are ready to start the actual
investigation.
The preparations during the pre-test depend on the investigation type and the
catheters that are used. The following subsections provide more information
about installing the pump tube, connecting EMG electrodes, preparing the
flowmeter, and preparing the catheter puller. In Chapter 3 you will find
information about preparing the catheters and the transducers.
2.5.3
Prepare the pump and pump tube
The pump has four rollers, and the rotation direction is preset in the
counterclockwise direction. The rotation and flow direction is indicated by the
arrow label on top of the pump (Figure 2.10).

Use only sterile filling liquids and sterile pump tubes (code: OBS 275/C or
275/D) for the pump module. Proper operation of the Solar Blue is not
guaranteed when using other brands and/or types of pump tubes.
