Note

The maximum length of the Ethernet cable is 100 meters. It is very important that
a high quality Ethernet cable is used. You must use CAT-5E STP (Shielded Twisted
Pair) quality or better. Using a cable with lower bandwidth capacity will reduce the
SN90 performance. Do not connect the Processor Unit to the Transceiver Unit using
the existing local area network.

Procedure

1

Locate the Ethernet RJ45 connectors on the rear side of the Processor Unit.

Use one of the sockets identified with arrows.

Note

Do not use any of the Ethernet RJ45 sockets on the Processor Unit connector panel.

Locate the Ethernet RJ45 sockets on the Transceiver Unit.

All sockets are located under the unit. Observe the identification label for the
connector panel. Use the socket identified with the arrow (see photo), or one of the
other sockets identified with "Processor Unit". Do not use any of the other RJ45
sockets.

Terminate each end of the Ethernet cable with a Phoenix Contact

Variosub RJ45

Quickcon

connector.

Connectors and mounting instructions are provided with the SN90 delivery.

Connect the Ethernet cables from the Processor Unit to the Ethernet sockets under
the Transceiver Unit.
