Krogen 58’ Manual, Hull 58014
Electrical System
69
10.
On the
SHORE POWER INLET SELECTOR SWITCH
Panel, select the
electrical power source for
INLET NO. 1
;
either
FWD
if connected at the Bow
or
AFT
if connected at the Stern (Cablemaster System). Then select the electrical
power source for
INLET NO. 2
;
either
FWD
if connected at the Bow or
AFT
if
connected at the Stern (Cablemaster System).
11.
Check the
input
dock voltage for
INLET NO 1
by setting the Volt/Hertz Meter
Selector Switch on the top of the AC Distribution Panel to position 1.
12.
Observe the voltage displayed and adjust (set) the Tap Selector Switch for INLET
NO. 1. If the volt display shows 208 (or close to 208) set the Tap Selector Switch
for INLET NO. 1 to ‘
208 V AC DOCK VOLTS’.
If the display shows 240 (or
close to it) set the Tap Selector Switch to
‘240V AC DOCK VOLTS’
.
13.
Verify the input dock voltage by setting the Volt/Hertz Meter to position 3. The
display should match the Tap Selector Switch setting. If it does not, call the
Dockmaster for assistance.
14.
Repeat steps 11 to 13 for INLET NO. 2, using position 2 and 4 on the Volt/Hertz
Meter.
15.
Next, on 120/240V AC Distribution Panel No. 1 and 120/240V AC Distribution
Panel No. 2, position each selector switch to the appropriate power source:
SHORE 1
for Aft (Cablemaster) connection or
SHORE 2
for Forward
connection.
16.
Turn back
ON
the 120/240V AC equipment and appliances you need.
The purpose of the two Acme Transformers is to boost input voltage. Should you arrive
at a marina or boat yard that only has 208V AC, the transformers will boost the 208V AC
to approximately 240V AC. But it will boost any voltage input – it does not ‘sense’ the
input voltage before boosting. It will also boost 240V AC to approximately 270V AC,
which could cause circuit breakers to close. This is why it is important to check the input
voltages as described above.
CAUTION
DO NOT switch Tap Selector under load.
