32
Every three months, check the condensate drain pans for obstruction. The condensate
drain pan is located under each cooling/heating unit.
This check must be done to each
cooling/heating unit separately.
To check the condensate drains, you should do the
following:
1.
Make sure the circuit breakers on the 24V DC Main Panel Disconnect labeled ‘
#1
CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’ and ‘
#2 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’ are
ON.
2.
Pour a
quart of water
into each condensate pan.
3.
If
the water drains completely within 30 seconds, the drain is operating correctly.
4.
If
the water
does not drain
completely within 30 seconds, check the drain outlets
for clogging.
Also every three months, clean and check the condensate drain pumps located in the
Engine Room, Starboard side and in the Amidships Machinery Space behind the PST-4
Pressure Storage Tank. To clean and check the condensate drain pumps, you should do
the following
for each pump
:
1.
Turn
OFF
the circuit breakers labeled ‘
#1 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’ and
‘
#2 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’ on the 24V DC Main Panel Disconnect.
2.
Remove the four Phillips head screws that secure the plastic cover to the
collection basin.
3.
Remove the plastic cover.
4.
Lift out the collection screen (have a bucket ready to place it in).
5.
Clean the collection screen with warm soap and water.
6.
Wipe clean the inside of the collection basin and plastic cover.
7.
Test the float switch by turning
ON
the ‘
#1 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’
and ‘
#2 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’ circuit breakers.
8.
Lift UP the float switch to test activation of the pump. Repair or replace as
necessary.
9.
Turn
OFF
the ‘
#1 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP
’ and ‘
#2 CONDENSATE
DRAIN PUMP
’ circuit breakers if air conditioning units will not be run,
otherwise leave the circuit breakers
‘ON’.
10.
Replace the collection screen.
11.
Replace the plastic cover and secure with the four Phillips screws.
