Re-Commissioning
This section outlines the necessary steps to follow if you went through the process of De-
Commissioning your vessel for extended lay-up.
Remove plastic from all vent openings.
Air Conditioning
The following re-commissioning procedure should be performed for all air conditioning
units:
1. Reconnect the hose connecting the raw water intake seacock to the sea strainer.
2. Close the valve at the bottom of the sea strainer.
3. Reconnect the hose connecting the sea strainer to the air conditioning unit.
4. Tighten the screws on the raw water intake pumps.
5. Open the seacocks.
6. Turn ON ALL the Air Conditioning circuit breakers on the 120/240V AC
Distribution Panels No. 1 and No. 2.
7. Turn ON the circuit breaker on the 120/240V AC Distribution Panels No. 1
labeled ‘ AIR CONDITION S.W. PUMP ’.
8. Turn ON the circuit breakers labeled ‘#1 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP’ and
‘#2 CONDENSATE DRAIN PUMP’ on the 24V DC Main Panel Disconnect.
9. Activate the system at the SMXir units.
10. Check the raw water intake sea cocks and sea strainers for leaks.
11. Check for overboard raw water discharge for all units.
Battery System
The following re-commissioning procedure should be followed:
1. Check electrolyte level in each battery.
2. Using hydrometer, verify charge in each cell.
Fresh Water System
This procedure outlines the re-commissioning activities for the systems that use fresh
water.
Fresh Water Tank
1. Close all faucets (Galley, Master Head sink and shower, Guest Head sink and
shower, Engine Room, Aft cockpit shower, and all three fresh water
washdowns).
2. Tighten the inlet and outlet connections on the fresh water pump .

The following steps assume you followed the De-Commissioning steps for the
Fresh Water System.
