LPG System
The Liquid Propane Gas (LPG) System installed in your Krogen 58’ consists of two 20
pound (9 kg) LPG cylinders located in the tank storage box on the Flybridge Starboard
side, LPG regulator, solenoid gas control system, and associated copper tubing and
fasteners. Refer to Figure 17 for diagram of LPG System and to Figure 15 – Top Down
View – Upper Deck for location of LPG tanks. The LPG System’s sole purpose is to fuel
the Range and oven.
The Trident Regulator is set to a 12” water column, which is the North American and
European standard, and correlates to the size of the burner orifices. Should you install a
different size orifice on the burners or broiler, consult a qualified LPG service center to
adjust the regulator pressure setting.
To operate your Range, see “Range” in the Appliances section in this manual.
CAUTION
Your Range is designed to burn ONLY Propane Gas.
DO NOT USE CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)
LPG and CNG are NOT interchangeable fuels.
CAUTION
The circuit breaker labeled PROPANE SOLENOID on the 12V DC NAV./COM.
Electronics Panel
must be turned OFF and all valves (both tank and solenoid)
must be CLOSED when the boat is unattended.
CAUTION
Liquid Propane Gas (LPG) is HIGHLY flammable. Use extreme caution when
servicing the storage tanks and when using the Viking Range.
CAUTION
LPG usually has an additive to produce a ‘rotten egg’ smell. If you smell such an
odor, check for leaks and repair IMMEDIATELY.
CAUTION
LPG is heavier than air and will collect in the lowest sections of the hull. You
may want to consider installing an instrument (sniffer) to detect hydrocarbon
fuel gases, such as LPG and also an instrument to detect Carbon Monoxide (CO).
