De-Commissioning

Fresh Water System
This procedure outlines the de-commissioning activities for the systems that use fresh
water.
VacuFlush® Sanitation System
1.
Pump out the holding tank to discharge all waste.
2.
Thoroughly flush system (holding tank) with fresh water.
Fresh Water Tank
1.
Completely
drain
the fresh water tank by opening all faucets,
hot and cold
(Galley, Master Head sink and shower, Guest Head sink and shower, Engine
Room, Aft cockpit shower, and all three fresh water washdowns) and operate
the pump until the tank is
empty
.
2.
Turn
OFF
the circuit breakers labeled
‘FRESH WATER PUMP’
on the 24V
DC Main Panel Disconnect and the 120/240V AC Distribution Panel No. 1.
3.
Leave all faucets
OPEN
for the lay-up period.
Dishwasher
1.
Turn
OFF
the circuit breaker labeled
‘DISH WASHER’
on the 120/240V
AC Distribution Panel No. 2.
2.
Turn
OFF
the water supply faucets.
3.
Disconnect
the water inlet line from the water valve.
4.
Drain
water from the inlet line and water valve. (Use a pan to catch the
water.)
5.
Reconnect
the water inlet line to the water valve.
6.
Remove the plastic sump cover in the tub bottom and use a sponge to soak up
water in the rubber boot.
Note:
Before using the dishwasher again, operate it through a complete cycle
with detergent in the cup.
Icemaker
1.
Turn
OFF
the circuit breaker on the 120V AC Inverter Bypass Panel labeled
‘ICE MAKER’
.
2.
Disconnect
the water supply connector behind the front grille at the solenoid
valve (garden hose connector).
3.
Disconnect
the white plastic tubing and nut from bottom of the solenoid
valve.
4.
Connect short length of garden hose and drain any water into suitable
container. Connect garden hose to adapter on supply line, not unit.
5.
Turn the power to the unit
ON
and allow the unit to run for one hour.
6.
Remove
any ice cubes that may have been ejected during this period.
7.
Turn
OFF
the power.
8.
Prop
OPEN
the door at least two inches to allow the inside to defrost.
9.
After the unit has defrosted,
wipe it dry
.
