9.
To
STOP
the system, push the STOP button at the TCS.
Anytime the Bow Thruster is used, all the hydraulic pumps will come to the high pressure
setting which is controlled by a dual pressure manifold connected to the load lines.
When away from the dock or anchorage, and the Bow Thruster is
no longer needed
,
normal electrical loads can then be added to the 20Kw Generator. The Bow Thruster can
be turned
OFF
by pressing the STOP button on the TCS. The
circuit breaker
for the
Bow Thruster (and Windlass) should
remain ON
because it supplies power to the dual
pressure manifold and to the alarm sender for temperature and oil level for the
Stabilizers.
When the vessel’s speed
exceeds 4-5 knots
, make the Stabilizers active by pressing the
“ACTIVE” buttons for both the PORT and STBD Stabilizer fins on the Touchscreen
Panel.
When the Bow Thruster is again needed:
1.
Have the 20Kw Generator running (with no load).
2.
Press the
START
button on the Bow Thruster TCS.
Hydraulics
The Bow Thruster is hydraulically powered by the Power Take Off (PTO) on the 20Kw
Generator. The thruster directional control valve is located in the Bow Thruster
Compartment.
Electrical
The jog lever operates on 24V DC electrical source which comes from the
NAV./COM.
Batteries.
Bow Thruster System Basic Maintenance
Once a month, check the
header tank
, located under the Island Queen berth in the

header tank approximately
half full
of oil and use
ONLY
Chevron Delo Gear Lubricant
SAE 80-90.
WARNING
