10. Remove the condensate drain pans under all cooling/heating units and drain any
water. Wipe dry and replace the pans.
Battery System
Assuming the boat will be left in the water, you should do the following:
1. Remove the battery box covers and clean terminals with mixture of baking soda
and distilled water.
2. Check all terminal posts and connections.
3. Replace battery box covers.
4. Check all connections at the Battery Charger.
5. Check condition of battery and charger on all visits to the vessel during lay-up.
6. Turn ON the circuit breaker labeled ‘ INVERTER BATT CHARGER ’ on the
120/240V AC Distribution Panel No. 2 to ensure the house and engine start
batteries are maintained at full capacity.
Bilge System
The following de-commissioning procedure should be followed on each visit to the
vessel:
1. Make sure all bilge discharge seacocks are OPEN .
2. Make sure all bilge pumps are operational and free of debris.
3. Make sure there is no residual or standing water around the bilge pumps.
Bow Thruster
The biggest potential problem with the vessel left in the water will be growth buildup in
the thruster tunnel and the thruster blades.
The following de-commissioning procedure should be followed:
1. Check the fluid level in the header tank. Specifically, ensure the level has not
dropped since last checked. This can be done at de-commissioning time by
marking, on the header tank, the level of fluid in the header tank for future
reference.
Digital Stabilizers
The following de-commissioning procedure should be performed:
1. Turn OFF the circuit breaker labeled ‘ STABILIZERS’ on the 24V DC
NAV./COM. Electronics Panel.
Engine Controls
The ZF Mathers Micro Commander Engine Controls require no de-commissioning.
