Air Conditioning System
Your Krogen 58’ is equipped with an air conditioning system consisting of five separate
Cruisair® DX Remote Systems. Three of the condensing units service a single
cooling/heating each, while two of the condensing units each service two cooling/heating
units. The total system consists of five condensing units and seven cooling/heating units;
four 12,000 BTU units, one 16,000 BTU unit and two 7,000 BTU units. Additionally, the
system includes a Rule 98 drain system, thru-hull fittings and seacocks, two raw water
intake strainers, three raw water pumps, one pump relay, five SMXir Keypad/Display
units, two fan control units, overboard discharge fitting, wiring and connections, and
associated hoses. See Equipment List for complete details.
The
Remote system means the air conditioning components are mounted on separate
chassis and installed in different locations. The condensing unit consists of the
compressor, seawater condenser, and electrical components. The cooling/heating unit
includes the evaporator coil and a blower mounted on a drip pan.
One 24,000 BTU condensing unit, located Aft Starboard in the Engine Room, services
both the 12,000 BTU cooling/heating unit for the
Main Saloon (located in a cabinet Aft
bulkhead, Port side) and the 12,000 BTU cooling/heating unit for the Galley (located
under the sink). The other four condensing units are located in the Amidships Machinery
Space.
One 24,000 BTU condensing unit is located in the Amidships Machinery Space and
services two 12,000 BTU cooling/heating units for the
Pilothouse . One 12,000 BTU
cooling/heating unit is located in the cabinet, Starboard side, by the watch berth. The
other 12,000 BTU cooling/heating unit is located in the compartment behind the steering
station.
A 16,000 BTU condensing unit is located in the Amidships Machinery Space and
services the 16,000 BTU cooling/heating unit located in the
Master Stateroom in the
cabinetry at the base of the hanging locker, Starboard side.
Two 7,000 BTU condensing units, located in the Amidships Machinery Space, provides
service to the 7,000 BTU cooling/heating units located in the
Starboard Guest
Stateroom and Port Stateroom/Den in the cabinetry at the base of the hanging lockers.
Controlling the climate in your Krogen 58’ is done with the SMXir Keypad/Display unit.

in the area in which it is located. One is located in the Main Saloon, one in the Master
