3.
Enable
both fins at the INITIALIZATION SCREEN on the Pilothouse
Touchscreen Panel by pressing the ‘
YES’
button under PORT and then the
‘
YES’
button under STBD.
4.
The HOME SCREEN will then be displayed with the CENTER buttons
highlighted for both the PORT and STBD fins. The vessel is now in CENTER
Mode.
NOTE:
In CENTER Mode the fins are held in the CENTER position by hydraulic
force, but
no
stabilization is actively in progress.
5.
Check the thru-hull on the Starboard side Forward for cooling water discharge
from the Stabilizer cooling pump. If there is no discharge, shut down the
Stabilizers and investigate.
6.
During maneuvering, such as when leaving the dock, both fins should remain
“CENTERED”.
7.
If fins are driven
off center during backing
, as indicted by the Position Indicator
Bars on the Touchscreen Panel,
stop backing
and wait for the fins to CENTER
themselves. This could take 10-20 seconds
or more.
8.
Keep the fins “CENTERED” until the vessel is under way,
Forward, at 4 knots
or more.
9.
When Forward speed
exceeds 4-5 knots
, at your discretion, make both fins
“ACTIVE” by pressing the “ACTIVE” buttons for both the PORT and STBD
fins on the Touchscreen Panel.
10.
The Port and Starboard Stabilizer fins are both now “ACTIVE” for the vessel.
Operation
Referring to the Touchscreen Panel, you will have the
HOME
screen selected most of
the time. From this screen you can access all system functions.
The
CENTER
and
ACTIVE
buttons on the Touchscreen Panel indicate the two primary
modes of the Stabilizer fins. In
CENTER
mode, the fins are hydraulically held in the
CENTER position.
CENTER
mode is used whenever you are
maneuvering
the vessel or
when stabilization is not required. In
ACTIVE
mode, the
Stabilizer fins are engaged to
stabilize the vessel.
ACTIVE
mode is used when the vessel
both
Port and Starboard fins
will normally be active. There is no advantage to making only one fin active, even in
calm sea conditions.
CAUTION
Fins MUST be Centered when backing down.
Fins automatically go to CENTER when transmission goes into reverse.
However, BEFORE applying rpm, glance at the Position Indicator Bars on the
Home screen to ensure fins are in CENTER position.
