Capacitive Touchscreen
User Manual H12 / SCAMAX® 8x1 - Version 2019.12
From the drop-down list in field
Resolution
, you may select an indivi-
dual scan resolution, only valid for this stream. The default setting is
Main Resolution
, indicating that this stream will adopt the resolution
set in the field of the same name, on the
Resolution
screen (
see chapter
). The entries listed above Main Resolution, here, correspond to
the other standard resolutions also offered on the Resolution screen. The
entries listed below Main Resolution, on this screen, are three special
resolutions only offered here and created through downscaling.
You may only select a resolution which is equal or less than the
Main Resolution
. If you select any higher resolution, you will receive a
message to this effect, when attempting to save your settings.
Compression
: Use the
drop-down selector for
Compression to switch bet-
ween JPEG-compressed
(
default
) and uncompres-
sed color image output.
When selecting compres-
sed transmission, you may
also specify the desired
JPEG Quality
. The default
value (75) will result in high
quality JPEG images. Plea-
se note that increasing or reducing this value will not only affect picture quality, but also increase and
reduce image file size..
Subsampling
is another JPEG-related setting.
To achieve higher compression, this setting will
enforce different sampling rates for chrominance (
color
) and luminance
(
brightness
) information. For detailed information about the three selections
offered here, please refer to the pertinent literature on JPEG compression.
Snipping
: Enabling the
Snipping
feature will limit
transmission to a speci-
fic area within the color
image.

If only partial images are
transmitted, for this stre-
am, this will be indicated
in the stream information area of the scan screen (
see chapter
) with a symbol resembling a
pair of scissors.
