Error Messages
In the following various error messages are shown, which may occur during device initialization or
handling of the scanner.
Especially with paper jam messages that are determined by the continuous transport path sensors,
it should be noted that the reported jams are often not actual jam error, but a document that got
stuck in the transport possibly only briefly. This type of scann issue can be usually eliminated without
opening the scanner.
Documents that are still in the transport path must be transported out, as this will cause subsequent
errors. Independently of the nature of the reported paper jams, please note the following
General
Paper Jam Handling
after fixing according to its position and before anew Scanstart:
1. Generally, the information
Sheets inside
is displayed with a green and a red number in the upper
right corner of the paper jam message. The green number stands for documents whose images
have already been completely created and which are thus classified as
valid
. The red number in-
dicates the number of documents still in the transport mechanism that are not yet valid and must
therefore be processed again. If the green number is greater than 0, the
Transport Valid Only
key
is activated within the error message. When operated, this starts the paper transport for as long
as the key is pressed and until all
valid
documents have been ejected. Once this is the case, the
key becomes inactive and the remainder of the documents can now be ejected via the adjacent
Transport
key. This button, too, only activates paper transport for as long as the key is pressed. This
way, documents stuck in the scanner can be largely protected from damage. All documents that
are ejected via the
Transport
button have not yet been processed and must be scanned again.
2. If the option
Sheet Not Valid until Output
is activated in the current scan profile (
see chapter
), any information about sheets still located in the transport mechanism (as described
above) is not available. Therefore, all images of documents still in the paper transport path at
the time when the error occurred will be discarded. As far as possible, these documents may be
ejected using the available
Transport
key and must all be resubmitted for processing.
3. If a document has audibly jammed and/or the documents cannot be ejected using the available
transport keys, the scanner must be opened and the jammed document removed in accordance
with the instructions in the respective paper jam message. The remaining documents can then be
transported out as described above. The scan screen or the attached scan software must be used
to determine the last document that has been processed correctly. All subsequent documents
must be returned to the input tray..

Scanner Opened While Scanning
(Error 200)
This error is displayed when the Scan Plane has been
opened on the device during scanning or it was not pro-
perly closed at Scanstart. To fix the error, the Scan Plane
must be properly closed (
see chapter
). Before anew
Scanstart, documents that may still be in the transport
passage must be removed, since otherwise subsequent
errors occur.
