4.6.4.3.4.  Required Tracks at Input

Whereas patch code detection by camera is

based on 15 virtual strips evenly spaced across

a variable detection area (

see above

), early patch code detection during paper intake is limited to the

five optical sensors mounted in the paper input path. This setting determines how many of these

sensors need to report patch code data, before a patch code is finally considered valid. Possible values

range from 0 to 5, with 0 effectively turning off early patch code detection.

4.6.4.3.5.  Verified Detection at Input

If early patch code detection is required for the

control of the Imprinter Front, this setting can

be used to force additional verification, through the front-image camera. In this case, any documents

following a patch code detected by optical sensors will be held back at the paper intake, until the

camera has confirmed this detection result. If a patch code cannot be recognized here, an appropriate

error message (

see chapter

9.2.28.

) is raised and scanning will be interrupted. Verified Detection at Input

will reduce the risk of invalid imprints on any documents causing erroneous patch code detection.

4.6.4.3.6.  Delete Patch Code Sheets

Checking this option will delete all images be-

longing to a patch code sheet detected. Such

deletion of images is highlighted with a red X, in the

stream information

area of the scan screen (

see

chapter

4.3.1.1.

).

The exact patch code ty-

pe(s) to be deleted may be

specified in the respective

selection screen. You may

choose one, multiple or all

of the patch code types lis-

ted. By default, all patcho-

de types are checked, ho-

wever, patchode deletion

itself is disabled.

4.6.4.4.  Barcode Settings

This screen contains all

settings required for

defining scanner-inter-

nal bar code detection.

Bar code detection hap-

pens at scan time and is

achieved by both scan-

ner cameras analyzing

incoming images on a

per-row basis, which

also limits detection to

linear (

1D

) bar codes.

The primary goal of in-

ternal bar code detection is to provide control information for the scan-process itself, in the shape

of bar code events. Only one bar code per image is accepted. If more than one bar code is detected

on an image, only the bar code with the most amount of lines will be used (

i.e. the highest bar code

).
