REMEMBER!
To leave the Programming
Mode at any time, press the
Esc
key. Doing so will
return the CP-220A to its
normal operating mode.
Programming changes will
be stored automatically.
PARAMETER 54:
RTS/CTS
Protocol
(On/Off)
The first character of the subscriber Account Number must be a valid
character, as determined by the
Automation System's
software. After
ascertaining from the software how the Central Station Receiver must
generate 3-digit Account Numbers in the
Acron Superfast
format, select the
desired option accordingly, as explained below.
Programming Procedures:
After entering
PARAMETER 53,
[ACRON 11 DIGIT W/ZERO] will be
displayed, with the [ZERO] blinking. Use the
NEXT
key or the
MANUAL/PREVIOUS
key to toggle between [ZERO] and [SPACE], as
required.
NOTE: Changes made to
PARAMETER 53
are only applicable when the
CP-220A is operating in the
FBI
mode (see
PARAMETER 02
on page
2-76 for additional information). If operating in either the
ADEMCO
or
RADIONICS
mode, the CP-220A will send an "illegal format"
message to the computer if it receives an
Acron Superfast
message
(which can only be processed when the receiver is in the
FBI
mode).
Default:
PARAMETER 53
is defaulted to [ACRON 11 DIGIT W/ZERO].
Advancing to Next Parameter
After programming
PARAMETER 53,
press the
N
key to advance to
PARAMETER 54
– the last parameter in
Category C
.
The CP-220A displays the parameter just programmed ([PARAMETER
NUMBER 53]) with its first digit flashing, indicating its request for the
next parameter number. Press either:
•
5
then
4
, or
• then
key and
4
, or
• the
key
NOTE: When the
is used, the
name
of the next parameter appears
immediately – not its
number.
RTS/CTS PROTOCOL OFF MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS
Background:
PARAMETER 54,
when enabled, permits the use of a more sophisticated
communications protocol, referred to as
RTS/CTS
(Request-to-Send/
Clear-to-Send), which governs the communications between the CP-220A and
the
Automation System's
computer. In using the
RTS/CTS
protocol, these
communications are conducted and supervised on a higher level than would
otherwise be available through the simple
handshaking
routine described in
PARAMETERS 20
and
21.
