DATA LOOP TEST OFF MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS
Background:
The
Data Loop Test
provided by
PARAMETER 45
offers a more rigorous method
than either
PARAMETER 20, DTR,
or
PARAMETER 21, RTS,
of testing
communications between the CP-220A and the
Automation System's
computer.
Rather than having the CP-220A simply check for proper voltage levels at the
computer (as performed by
PARAMETERS 20
and
21
), the
Data Loop Test
is
initiated by the computer and evaluates the ability of
both
it and the CP-220A to
communicate back and forth.
With
PARAMETER 45
enabled, the computer "calls" the CP-220A, causing it to
send a reply, which is acknowledged by the computer. If the acknowledgement is
not received by the CP-220A within the time frame programmed in
PARAMETER
15, Computer Trouble Delay
(see page 2-81), the receiver will generate a
[COMPUTER FAIL] message.
If
PARAMETER 45
is enabled,
PARAMETERS 16 and 17
(pages 2-82 and
2-83) must also be enabled, and
PARAMETERS 20
and
21
(pages 2-88 and
2-89) must both be programmed to [OFF].
NOTE: The
Data Loop Test
is valid only when
PARAMETER 02, Receiver
Computer Type
(page 2-76) has been set to either the
FBI
or the
ADEMCO
mode. Furthermore, the
Data Loop Test
will operate
only if supported by the
Automation System
computer in use.
Programming Procedures:
After entering
PARAMETER 45,
[DATA LOOP TEST OFF] will be
displayed with the [OFF] after [TEST] flashing.
Press the
NEXT
key or the
MANUAL/PREVIOUS
key to toggle between
[DATA LOOP TEST OFF] and [DATA LOOP TEST ON].
Default:
PARAMETER 45
is defaulted to [DATA LOOP TEST OFF].
Advancing to Next Parameter:
After programming
PARAMETER 45,
press the
N
key to advance to
PARAMETER 46
– the next parameter in
Category C
.
The CP-220A displays the parameter just programmed ([PARAMETER
NUMBER 45]) with its first digit flashing, indicating its request for the
next parameter number. Press either:
•
4
then
6
, or
• then
key and
6
, or
• the
key
NOTE: When the
is used, the
name
of the next parameter appears
immediately – not its
number.
