PARAMETER 46:
Computer Fail
Test
COMP FAIL TEST OFF MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS
Background:
PARAMETER 46
relates to the use of
PARAMETER 38, Printer Fail,
and
PARAMETER 39, Computer Fail.
If enabled, both of these parameters will
cause the CP-220A to enter its
MANUAL
mode if either the printer
(
PARAMETER 38
) or the
Automation System (PARAMETER 39)
is not
ready to accept data.
NOTE: Refer to pages 2-67 and 2-94 for information on these parameters.
PARAMETER 46
operates in conjunction with these two parameters, both
of which must be programmed [ON] if
PARAMETER 46
is to be enabled.
Under this scenario, if a printer or a computer failure occurs, the CP-220A
will be unable return to its
AUTOMATIC
mode until the operation of the
Automation System's
computer is restored.
NOTE: The CP-220A's
AUTOMATIC
and
MANUAL
modes are discussed
in greater detail on page 2-103; and in
PARAMETER 40,
on page
2-39.
The following table illustrates the interaction between these parameters:
IF ENABLED,

38 PRINTER FAIL /

39 COMPUTER FAIL
46 COMPUTER FAIL
TEST
will cause the CP-220A to enter its
MANUAL mode if it has been
operating in its
AUTOMATIC mode
With both PARAMETERS 38 and 39
enabled, the CP-220A will enter its
MANUAL mode if it has been
operating in its AUTOMATIC mode
The CP-220A will return to the
AUTOMATIC mode if
MANUAL/PREVIOUS
key is pressed
Even if the printer restores, the CP-
220A will be unable to return to its
AUTOMATIC mode until the computer
has restored; once this is done, pressing
the

complete the process
